The History of Durkee341
You might be wondering: "Durkee? WTF?" If not, that's perfectly okay! This is the history of Durkee341; the name, the pact, the legend. Be prepared for anything!
Part 1, Catsquare:
It all started long ago, with a two-man pact called “Catsquare.”
Formed by two six year-olds with big dreams and a lot of motivation, Catsquare grew over the next several years, eventually becoming an unofficial printing and publishing business of six people that grossed less than $80 annually, known as Catsquare Comics.
Part 2, The Multiplayer Clan:
Then, with the advent of easily obtained and affordable internet gaming VIA such popular titles as Half-Life, Diablo, and Starcraft, Catsquare fell by the wayside. It’s members discovered clans, and agreeing that Catsquare was “too gay” to use as a clan name, they went in search of a better one, one that would strike fear into the hearts of men and women alike, one that would echo across the face of the earth and dance across the lips of countless people.
But what would they call themselves?
In the summer of the year 2000, Dylan Odom, one of the original cofounders, picked a crusty and filthy spice bottle out of the soft dirt of a wooded hillside and read the brand in a falsetto voice. At that moment, the coufounders unanimously decided that it was to become the name under which they would be unified: DURKEE.
The 341 came shortly thereafter. Deciding that the tag (D341) was appropriate for the clan, (being 34; Shaquille O’Neal, then of the Lakers, and 41; Glen Rice, also then of the Lakers,) the clan then proceeded to form the basis of what was to become something so much more than just another Internet Multiplayer Clan.
Part 3, Durkee341 Films:
With access to video cameras and audio recorders, Durkee341 studios was born, eventually diversifying into Durkee341 films (which is still producing extremely low-budget films and music videos today,) and Blue341, (which produced remixes and such, but has since fallen by the wayside.)
Durkee341 also acquired an identity as a pencil-and-paper role-playing group, and finally matured into what you see here: The Durkee341 Haven.
Part 4, The Future of Durkee:
But where will Durkee341 go in the future? Who knows! With less online gaming going on for it’s members, Durkee341 has become the name under which a great deal of other wonderful things have and are being done. The tags (D341) are kept mainly for formality among the co-founders, but are available to just about anyone who wants them. Just PM the Admin for more info.
Today, Durkee341's forum (The Durkee341 Haven, where you are right now! ) is a place for people all over the world to get together and talk about all kinds of things! It's an international sharing zone where everybody brings a little bit of uniqueness to the lives of their fellow forum members.
So hang with us, and be a part of history...
Sincerely;
(D341)Jerman (AuronVegeta) and the rest of the Durkee341 Staff.
